Mindful YOLO incorporates mindful movement in every class and invites participants to notice the sensations of the body in motion as an effective way to exercise nourishing mind, body and spirit.
Cycle
Cycle is a highly effective way to build cardiovascular strength and endurance. Designed for all ages and fitness levels, cycle offers a challenging low impact ride. It's the perfect opportunity to get your heart pumping, improve strength and build community.
TRX
TRX which stands for Total Body Resistance Exercise, is revolutionary workout method that uses your body weight and gravity as resistance to build strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, core and joint stability.
Strength
Strength training improves daily living skills through increased stability and functional fitness increasing strength, flexibility, agility and bone density. Using weights and body weight exercises strength training helps define and tone targeted muscle groups while increasing the strength of connective tissue, muscles and tendons.
Mindful Elders & Senior Fitness
Exercise at every age has been shown to prevent disease, lower the risk of falls, improve mental health and well-being, strengthen social ties, and improve cognitive function. Mindfulness specifically has been found to improve memory and slow down the progression of dementia. It’s no surprise, then, that exercise and mindfulness is popular among senior citizens. MindfulYOLO enjoys facilitating safe and supportive senior fitness classes using balls and bands to focus on balance & strength. Mindful Elder offerings also include chair yoga, guided meditation, art & visual thinking strategies (VTS), gardening, growing in nature together and graceful transitions support.
Salsa for Seniors
Salsa dancing is FUN and offers more benefits to our mindful elders than what most people would expect. Aside from improved posture, improved strength performance and even improved productivity, active agers will also benefit from cognitive improvement, increased mobility, and over all improved health. Chair Salsa is a variation that Mindful YOLO offers and non ambulatory and memory care residents also enjoy attending Salsa for Seniors to shake maracas, smile and have their spirits lifted and their hands held and moved to the music.
